Job Description

Connect Sales Specialist

Sales Specialist is an important role within our pre-sales community and will work with the global and regional account teams to proactively identify and qualify new connect opportunities, work on the pipeline of existing opportunities and develop business focused on the network services and wider BT Connect portfolio.
The resource is expected to work as part of the Global Solution Specialist Sales team in an international environment supporting Telco account in APAC region.
Key responsibilities:

• Business develop and sell network services and the BT Connect portfolio as member of the Global Connect Specialist Team
• Develop new customers and broaden BT’s share of wallet in existing accounts together with the Sales Lead for each opportunity.
• Influence and qualify the opportunities to ensure healthy pipeline.
• Be the customer champion, expert of regional nuances in aiding sales, regional relationship owner with key stakeholders (sales, suppliers, vendors…), and provide insight to the portfolio management teams.
• Accountable for commercial profitability and technical leadership for network products and BT Connect portfolio with targeted customer opportunities.
• Be a subject matter expert and presales lead internally for global sales communities and externally for customers for the network services and the wider BT Connect portfolio.
• Support vertical/regional accounts and opportunities aside from directly owning Telco accounts head quartered in your region.
• Capable of positioning new services (e.g. Global Fabric) to CXOs.
• Work towards driving JGTM engagement from technical perspective.
• Achieve sales targets as per agreed target letter and in accordance with the Sales Pay Plan

Professional skills:

• Solid Understanding of connectivity technologies for both underlay (MPLS, Internet, 4G/5G) and Overlay (SD-WAN, SASE, etc.) network services.
• Work directly and align with partners around the connect portfolio such as Cisco, Fortinet, PaloAlto, Aruba etc and any of the cloud providers as part of the wider eco-system.
• Competency in sales methodologies and experience of consultative selling techniques
• Commercial acumen and financial skills with extensive experience of P&L structure, drivers, and optimisation techniques.
• Comprehensive IT & Telecom industry awareness and understanding of competitor capabilities, strengths, and weaknesses, for both Global and Domestic Suppliers
• Excellent verbal and written language capabilities.
• This role requires a combination of technical, sales and commercial skills.
