About the role

Join one of BT Group's most visible and influential finance teams, working at the heart of strategic decision-making across the business.

As a Group Commercial Cases Finance Manager, you'll play a key role in shaping some of BT's largest investment, commercial, acquisition and transformation decisions. Supporting the Group CEO, Group CFO, BT Investment Board and senior leaders across the organisation, you'll provide insight, challenge and commercial expertise that directly influences the future direction of BT Group.

This is a unique opportunity to gain exposure across all of BT's business units, building a broad understanding of the Group while working on high-profile projects that have a genuine impact on long-term performance and shareholder value. The breadth of experience, stakeholder exposure and strategic perspective gained in this role can open the door to a wide range of future career opportunities across BT.

What you’ll be doing

  • Partnering with senior stakeholders across BT to evaluate strategic investment decisions and provide commercial insight and recommendations.
  • Supporting the BT Investment Board, helping to assess and challenge major investment, customer bid, acquisition and disposal proposals.
  • Managing the planning, governance and administration of BT Investment Board meetings and maintaining associated documentation and processes.
  • Building robust end-to-end financial and commercial analysis to support executive decision-making.
  • Leading pan-BT business cases where investment decisions impact multiple business units.
  • Acting as a trusted adviser to the Group CFO and wider leadership team, responding to strategic and commercial questions as they arise.
  • Providing expert guidance to stakeholders across BT on business case development, investment appraisal methodologies and governance requirements.
  • Driving consistency and continuous improvement in business case standards, templates and investment governance processes.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • Experience in a commercial finance, business partnering or investment evaluation role.
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, with advanced Excel capability.
  • Ability to distil complex analysis into clear insights, recommendations and senior-level communications.

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working with senior finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to assess opportunities from a broader business perspective.
  • Experience operating in a complex, fast-paced and matrixed organisation.
  • Understanding of investment appraisal, business case development and governance processes.
  • Industry experience within a large, complex organisation.
