About the role

The role will lead on all Tax activities for countries Such as Uruguay, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica and supporting Finance activities: monthly and annual closing, review of income, costs, and margin. Processing of Journals.

  • Co-defines and leads the tax strategy for the Americas, partnering with Regional Sales and Finance leadership to ensure alignment with business objectives while optimizing tax efficiency and compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Ensures full compliance and governance over all tax matters, maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, integrity, and timeliness in tax reporting, statutory filings, and regulatory obligations across the region.
  • Acts as a steward of BT Global’s tax position and risk management, safeguarding the organization through proactive identification, assessment, and mitigation of tax risks while supporting sustainable financial outcomes.
  • Drives collaboration and consistency in tax practices, serving as a key stakeholder across Country Finance teams in the Americas, global tax functions, business units, and shared service centers (GBS/GFSS) to promote standardization, innovation, and best practices.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supports the delivery of a range of tax activities that are covered by existing guidelines in accordance with internal and external regulatory requirements, such as preparing and reviewing, supporting tax calculations and annual corporate tax returns, ensuring its accuracy and completeness upon submission and payment
  • Analyses and researches the complex tax implications of legislative changes or business decisions and activities and reflects these in tax returns and other tax-related documents as required by law and regulations.
  • Prepares transfer pricing supporting documents to comply with tax requirements
  • Supports the building of relationships with external tax authorities and advisers and assists independent auditors and the financial control team on tax and financial audits
  • Supports the identification and management of risk through regular assessment and diligent execution of controls and mitigations, raising any concerns as appropriate
  • Supports in the implementation of ways to improve working processes within area of responsibility and communication issues and areas for improvement to business unit/area managers such as through supporting resolution of any data issues impacting productivity or compliance
  • Keeps knowledge up to date on emerging trends and changes in tax principles and practices, sharing with team members
  • Supporting annual and monthly closing, take care of Revenue-Cost-Margin, Supporting on external audits.

Essential Skills / Experience

Skills & Experience:

  • A broad background in corporate tax, indirect tax, withholding tax. Local and international tax regulations. Tax compliance and statutory reporting.
  • Qualified accountant and Audit background with depth knowledge
  • Identify tax risk and opportunities

Soft Skills:

  • Leadership
  • Hight level of precision to ensure accuracy in tax calculations, filings and reports.
  • Strong ability to interpret complex tax regulations and financials data
  • Effective managements of multiple deadlines, strong planning and prioritization capabilities, works effectively with cross-functional temas.

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Tax & Finance Control Experience
  • Experience working in a complex, matrix, commercial and international organisation
  • Setting and executing on tax and financial control strategy
