Why this job matters

  • Key business partner to all of the Scottish Wide Area Network (SWAN) operational team and the Scotland Sales team
  • Key support to the Scotland Finance Manager, where this role will work hand in hand
  • Holds the business leaders to account to deliver their sales and profit targets, using financial data and insight to drive action and optimise productivity and performance – both tactically and strategically
  • The role is critical in supporting the customer facing sales channel in understanding and delivering against their financial targets in support of CPS, Business and BT as whole

What you’ll be doing

  • Support unit Sales Directors and their teams in all aspects of finance
  • Improve the impact, and understanding, of financial reporting on performance
  • Forecast Outlook and MTP Developing and own forward forecasting taking into account WIP, New Deals, Customer insight on Losses, Churn etc
  • Review performance versus bid and keep all parties informed to ensure control of roll out
  • Detailed understanding of accounting treatment and ensuring accruals, rev recognition etc are accurate and correct
  • Driving Cost Transformation agenda and following through to P&L – with particular attention to costs at bid and Openreach costs on roll out
  • Deal with complex commercial situations day in day out to either protect BTs contractual financial position or improve BTs financial position

The skills you'll need

  • Financial Analysis expereince: Oversees and reviews the financial and operational analysis for the business.
  • Experience of forecasting, Planning and Budgeting: Oversees and reviews forecast/budget at detailed level, demonstrating an understanding of their inter-relationship.
  • Track record of proven financial delivery and profit improvement initiatives
  • Experience business partnering senior stakeholders (Director Level), in delivery of business objectives, and driving and influencing business decisions and strategy
  • Experience of working with Commercial teams to deliver the unit financials
  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA etc)
