Why this job matters

The Finance Business Partner provides financial and commercial support to key stakeholders, driving optimal business decisions and delivering better financial and commercial performance, in alignment with Group business objectives. The role supports high-profile strategic initiatives, manages significant cost and capital programmes, and plays a key role in financial planning, risk management and transformation.

What you’ll be doing

1. Establishes trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, providing financial insight and challenge across strategic and operational initiatives.
2. Leads end-to-end financial planning and reporting for the unit, including budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis across Opex, Capex and headcount.
3. Owns financials across complex programmes and functions, including software spend, vendor contracts, and large-scale capital investments.
4. Provides financial leadership on major business cases, investment appraisals and procurement projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
5. Tracks and articulates cost variances, risks and opportunities across multi-million pound cost bases, enabling informed decision-making.
6. Drives cost transformation and efficiency initiatives, using data-led analysis to identify opportunities and influence change.
7. Ensures financial governance and stewardship across multiple teams and programmes, managing risk and compliance with internal and external requirements.
8. Improves understanding and impact of financial reporting on business performance, linking strategy to KPIs and financial outcomes.
9. Coaches and develops finance talent, supporting team engagement and capability building across UK and offshore teams.
10. Implements continuous improvement in financial processes, systems and controls, resolving data issues and enhancing reporting accuracy.
