Why this job matters

The Finance Business Partner provides financial and commercial support to key stakeholders, driving optimal business decisions and delivering better financial and commercial performance, in alignment with Group business objectives. The role supports high-profile strategic initiatives, manages significant cost and capital programmes, and plays a key role in financial planning, risk management and transformation.

Strategic nature of role. Diversity/Complexity of role

  • Act as a Collaborative agent to bridge the gap between Business and Finance
  • Accountable for all financial performance of Cluster of accounts such as P&L, Working Capital, TLC and Capex.
  • Responsible for the financial planning processes for the Cluster of accounts.
  • Monthly review of sales pipeline with all Sales Directors/Client Partners
  • Monthly review of bottom-up build of contract Financials with Sales team, Commercial team & finance team.
  • Responsible for driving revenue, costs and cash improvement, Identification, and mitigation of risks
  • Value added Finance support to Business in strategic decision makings towards New Business/ Change Controls
  • Mentoring and coaching team member to understand the various drivers in the contract not limited to Sales Metrics, Product profitability, Revenue – EBIT relationship, Labor profiles, PPP initiatives.
  • Actively engages within the Business Partnering Community in contribution towards the vision for Tower.
  • Working with the business, to ensure all business activities are carried out in accordance with local legislative requirements and BT Policy.
  • Drive reviews such as CGR, Monthly/Quarterly variances, BS, P&L and adherence of control & compliance

Decisions held

• Budget target interlock for Labour, Product financials, Procurement savings and other Inter BT arrangements including any Labour change requirements in the year.

• Planning and working with business teams towards making Strategic decisions by mitigating the risks and identifying/Drive the cost optimization areas (PPP)

• Ensures adherence to accounting policies, Compliance & Governance framework. Challenges/ Questions any exceptions

• Transaction approval as per DOA

• Challenging/ questioning the inappropriate/ wrong charge to P&L

Revenue/ Scale of role

• Varies by business unit (Revenue/GMC up to £200m)

• Manages risks and opportunities and strategic decisions of a business

Business expertise / Commercial impact

• Strong knowledge of accounting and financial standards

• Positively influencing business performance by using data, commentary, and analysis to inform decision making.

• Can directly work with Business teams to support Strategic objectives and Cost Transformation projects

• Ability to understand the changing business requirements & deliver on change management

• Strategic thinker with driving daily changing concepts to deliver vision with the ability to resolve barriers.

Stakeholders / Communication Skills

• Excellent stakeholder management required (FC/FD/CFO level)

• Ability to understand / Implement the vision provided by Senior business partners to implement the strategy for the unit.

Qualification:

Certified Chartered Accountant (CA)
