Commercial Finance Business Partner (based in Belfast)

The Commercial Finance Business partner will be responsible for winning and retaining profitable business across key accounts on strategic deals. The role holder will drive financial risk mitigation and management of key commercial issues as well as positively influence win rates and directly impact BT Group’s drive for profitable growth.

To do so, the successful candidate will need to provide financial leadership and have the ability to influence the bid support function, quality, and accuracy of bid response. You will be recognised as a trusted advisor to senior management and the subject matter expert for bids.

You'll have the following responsibilities

  • Accountable for a discreet and complex bids within a specific field of responsibility
  • Assist the commercial strategy on bids through scenario and sensitivity modelling, assuring appropriate investment appraisal for BT
  • Provides insightful recommendations to improve bid profitability
  • Identify, understand and challenge the risks, assumptions, drivers and interdependencies
  • Ensure the IA model is on time, accurate, challenged and best practice is applied
  • Assist with assurance for the accurate completion of customer pricing sheets with ability to develop and own bespoke and/or complex pricing structures
  • Manage inputs from the bid team (Product, Technical, Service, Group finance, HR etc.)
  • Assist with commercial deal strategy
  • Seek and obtain and finance derogations relating to contractual terms and conditions (e.g. OBA, Benchmarking, Audit)

The skills you'll need

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • Senior Stakeholder experience and working within matrixed environments
  • Experience of working with commercial and operational teams to deliver bid proposals and win deals
  • Ability to interpret financials into meaningful insight, to inform decision making
  • Ability to operate under pressure of deadline driven sales environment
  • Be willing to voice an opinion and look at the “art of the possible”. Able to create a clear vision, delivering against key metrics
  • Demonstrates a high level of analytical capability
