This role can be based in Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol or London.

Why this role matters

Winning and retaining profitable business across Corporate and Public Sector key accounts on strategic deals, is critical to the long-term success of BT Business. Ensuring financial risk has been appropriately mitigated and management of key commercial issues have been identified will reduce the possibility of unexpected outcomes adversely impacting the business.

The Bid Finance function has the ability to influence win rates and directly impact BT’s drive for profitable growth on the more complex deals, often utilising the latest technology and innovations in the marketplace. Consequently, the team are widely recognised as trusted advisors to senior management and the executive team, responsible for presentation of the commercial position for decision-making.

What you'll be doing

  • Produce bid P&L and cash flow for Complex and Non-standard bids
  • Ensuring the Invest Appraisal model is on time, accurate, challenged, applied best practice (insight)
  • On time and accurate completion of the Finance briefing for the appropriate DOA sign off having applied the best practices
  • Assist the commercial strategy on bids through scenario and sensitivity modelling, assuring appropriate investment appraisal for BT
  • Identifies, understands and challenges the risks, assumptions, drivers and interdependencies.
  • Support and make recommendations into customer negotiations
  • Contribute to the production of Finance Schedules, obtaining finance derogations relating to contractual terms and conditions (e.g. OBA, Benchmarking, Audit) as appropriate

The skills you'll need

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • Strong communication skills, with an ability to work with stakeholders at different levels and different parts of the business
  • Strong Excel and modelling skills, with an analytical mindset
  • Ability to interpret financials into meaningful insight, to inform decision making.
  • Ability to operate under pressure of deadline driven sales environment.
  • Experience of commercial contracts and investment appraisal preferable
  • Knowledge of the telecoms market and products preferable
