Why this job matters

This role is a pivotal enabler within the Office of the Chief Digital Officer, providing the business management expertise that keeps the Digital function aligned, focused and moving at pace. By partnering closely with the CDO and Digital Leadership Team (DLT), you’ll help ensure that Digital delivers against its strategic ambitions with clarity, discipline, and momentum.

By being accountable for the effective support of the day‑to‑day operational heartbeat of the CDO Office, you free the Senior Business Manager to drive the big strategic priorities, strengthening leadership focus and improving execution across Digital.

Acting as a central enabler, you’ll shape and support the governance, planning, delivery and engagement activities that underpin performance, insight generation, continuous improvement and Digital’s transformation journey.

What you’ll be doing

Activities of the role vary on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis - no task is too small or too large in ensuring CDO Office effectiveness. Adaptability, resilience and a sense of urgency are essential.

  • Governance: supporting the senior business manager, Drive and maintain effective governance across the CDO Office, including long‑term agenda planning, aligning strategic and operational priorities, and managing closed‑loop control (CLC) across actions.
  • QBR: supports the senior business manager by leading the end-to-end preparation for the quarterly business review process.
  • Digital Goals: Act as a key coordinator for the reporting of Digital unit Goals, working with the Transformation team.
  • Key Executive Reporting: coordinate and support the delivery of any Ad-hoc / regular executive reporting, working with the DLT and SMEs to ensure accurate, auditable and well‑structured content.
  • CDO Readiness: Partner with the Senior EA to ensure the CDO is well prepared for key internal and external meetings through high‑quality briefs, clear narratives and effective prioritisation.
  • Communications: Support delivery of the Digital communication plan, including events, all‑hands, town halls and webcasts.
  • Trusted Advisor: Act as a recognised source of resolution and expert guidance across key Digital workstreams, providing balanced advice and pragmatic solutions.

Experience you'll have

Essential:

  • Experienced influencer, negotiator and decision maker.
  • Programme office/management experience - evidence of producing concise, insight‑led, accurate reports for C‑suite audiences.
  • Experienced in running governance forums - Coordinating senior‑level meetings, reviews and action tracking. Building structured reporting packs (performance, strategy, dashboarding, OKRs, KPIs).
  • Highly competent in Microsoft Office, demonstrating advanced skills in MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook.

Desirable:

  • Experienced at resolving complex issues to resolution.
  • Strong experience of stakeholder management at MD level.
  • Experienced change agent adopting continuous improvement.
  • Understanding of how digital units operate (e.g., agile, delivery cycles, product roadmaps).
