Why this job matters

Small cells are critical to delivering high‑capacity, low‑latency mobile networks—especially in dense urban environments. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of BT’s strategy to identify new deployment opportunities, forge partnerships with landowners and local authorities, and secure the rights needed to expand our national asset footprint. You’ll be driving commercial outcomes, supporting MNO ambitions, and opening new avenues for BT’s Wholesale business. BT is a global leader in secure connectivity and digital innovation. Our Wholesale business powers millions of connections across the UK, supporting telecom operators, enterprises, and public sector organisation.You will lead on the account strategy and coordinate with the virtual teams across distinct functions to manage overall sales and contract performance. Driving share of wallet, managing contract change control, developing new business, managing delivery standards and protocols, whilst maintaining customer satisfaction via regular reporting. You will also seek to promote BT and its wholesale capabilities including its asset portfolio and to develop additional market opportunities. Long-term, as the team becomes more successful, there will be opportunities for growth and this role could possible develop into a leadership position - helping to further build out the Small Cells team.

What you’ll be doing

- Meet annual targets for small cell deployment and revenue growth.
- Identify potential small cell locations and secure land rights with councils, landlords, and managing agents.
- Negotiate licence terms and agreements to enable deployment of BT assets including lighting columns, kiosks, and street hubs.
- Build senior‑level relationships across public and private sectors to unlock access to key sites.
- Work closely with MNO account teams to understand demand and prioritise opportunities.
- Lead commercial discussions, draft Heads of Terms, and manage in‑life performance of contractual agreements.
- Engage with BT Legal to ensure compliance and drive contract progress.
- Collaborate with internal engineering, infrastructure and commercial teams to ensure surveys, asset selection and build plans are completed.
- Provide regular updates on legal, build and deployment progress.

Experience Required

- Telecoms sales or site acquisition experience.
- Strong knowledge of the mobile industry, small cells, and planning/policy environments.
- Experience working with local authorities, landlords and managing agents.
- Negotiation, stakeholder management and presentation skills.
- Ability to lead complex commercial discussions and manage long sales cycles.
- A strategic, innovative mindset and confidence operating with senior decision‑makers.
