Job Description

Step into a global role as our Senior Commercial Manager – Roaming (Wholesale Mobile), where you’ll shape the commercial strategy behind how millions of customers stay connected around the world. This is an exciting opportunity to own the commercial engine driving inbound roaming profitability while balancing sustainable outbound economics across our international footprint. You’ll be at the centre of global connectivity, building powerful relationships with international operators and brokers, leading complex commercial negotiations, and steering our strategy across roaming, IoT and advanced IMSI models. If you love high‑stakes commercial work, international collaboration and the thrill of unlocking new revenue opportunities, this role puts you right where the action happens.

In this role, you’ll own the commercial governance that underpins global roaming, ensuring every agreement is commercially optimised, contractually sound and aligned with GSMA standards and permanent roaming regulations. You’ll guide the commercial readiness for next‑generation technologies such as LTE‑M, NB‑IoT, VoLTE, RedCap and 5G SA, while analysing global traffic patterns to uncover new growth opportunities across consumer, enterprise and M2M segments. With responsibility for key partnerships, pricing models, performance reviews and long‑term commercial strategy, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the future of roaming and IoT on a global scale.

Who we are

The UK’s fastest broadband network. The nation’s best-loved mobile brand. And, one of the UK's biggest companies too. We put our customers first, making life simpler, smoother, and more joyful. With big ambitions and a brilliant team, we’re building a more connected future for everyone.

Our ways of working

We’re a flexible-first organisation, because we know people do their best work when they have choice and clarity. To support meaningful collaboration, we ask everyone to spend at least eight days each month connecting in person.

That doesn’t just mean time in the office, it could be team meetings, offsites, volunteering days, cross-functional projects, or away days - anywhere meaningful collaboration happens. What matters is making those moments purposeful, so when we come together, it really counts.

Accessible, inclusive and equitable for all

Virgin Media O2 is an equal opportunities employer, and we're working hard to remove bias and barriers for our people and candidates. So, we build equity and inclusion into everything we do, from the policies we craft to the relationships we shape. We support and encourage you to be your authentic self throughout your application journey with us.

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

  • Extensive commercial experience in roaming, wholesale telecoms, IoT connectivity or global partner agreements, including IMSI leasing and third‑party roaming brokers.
  • Strong understanding of GSMA roaming frameworks, permanent roaming regulations and IoT roaming architectures.
  • Proven track record negotiating complex, high‑value international agreements (operators, aggregators, brokers or multi‑IMSI providers).
  • Highly analytical with strong financial and commercial modelling skills and deep knowledge of roaming economics.
  • Excellent communication and partner engagement skills, able to influence senior internal and external collaborators.
  • Strong governance approach with meticulous attention to commercial, contractual and regulatory detail.
  • Familiarity with GSMA (IR.21, IR.85, RAEX, SGP.32 etc.)
  • Understanding of TAP/BCE flows, wholesale charging, fraud controls and rating/settlement processes

When you apply, you'll be asked about any adjustments you might need to support the recruitment process. Let us know, and we'll be sure to discuss it with you.

Please note: Applications will be reviewed, and interviews conducted throughout the duration of this advert, therefore we may bring the closing date forward. We encourage all interested applicants to apply as soon as possible. If you’re offered a job with us, it will be conditional, based on the passing of background checks.
