Functional Knowledge that we would require

- Knowledge of functional work and activities measured through a hierarchy of work extending from “tasks” to “full theory and practice in more than one discipline” (technical expertise)

Primarily concerned with risks and mitigations across the region along with ensuring all audits (internal/external) are completed successfully and on time. Also supports any technical projects -

• Understanding of BT’s operations in the cluster

• Minimum 3 years of experience across various functional disciplines

• Expertise in Risk, Compliance and Audit management

• Own country BCP plan and conduct annual exercise to test effectiveness of plan.

• Ability to work with stakeholders to create mitigation plans

• Technical experience to be able to support Operations

• Exposure to operations in multiple countries, understanding regulations and culture

Business Expertise

- Knowledge and expertise about the business, measured by establishing gradients of knowledge of the work in unit to knowledge of the industries in which the business functions

Able to work across Business Units and functional boundaries to deliver in the best interest of BT -

• Manage BT’s risk, audit & compliance activities in the cluster

• Can propose mitigation plans and understand the cost to benefit ratio of each risk mitigation

• Has relationships with stakeholders across the cluster and the wider BT business as necessary

• To support specific technical projects such as Global Fabric and LEO implementations in region as necessary

• Adept at navigating BT procedures and governance to get things done

Leadership

- Leadership and guidance provided to others measured through the nature and breadth of the leadership -

• Ability to lead projects and tasks related to risks, mitigations and audits independently

• Works with a level of autonomy and decision making

• Ability to plan and lead individual mitigations

• Is prepared with proposals and solutions to problems for senior leadership to act on

• Role model within the operations team for colleagues around the business and immediate team members

Problem Solving

- Level of mental / analytical skills required in order to perform a particular job -

Problems related to risks and mitigations across the cluster; also supporting problems with technical aspects in operations

• Managing multiple internal and external stakeholder groups when relevant

• Technical understanding and problem solving to support issue resolutions

• Ability to propose solutions and adequate mitigations

• Program managing to conclusive action

Nature & Area of Impact

- The way the job impacts the business by measuring the associated responsibility; Area of impact which the job has on the business by measuring the specific organizational entities where the impact will be felt

Accountable for pulling together all risks, audits, mitigations in the cluster. Also responsible to ensure that the operations team have technical support. Ultimately impacts the flawless running of the region supporting the COM/ROM -

• Ensures that the COM/ROM have all risks/mitigations at hand and updated with all stakeholders

• Tries to ensure that there are no surprises in region so as BT can operate effectively.

• Ensures that BT responds in a timely and effective manner to any event / crisis impacting the cluster

• Non-Financial Controls are complied with in full

• Risk Management is key to all decisions and processes.

• Supports compliance of legal and regulatory obligations, directing a matrixed team to execute these responsibilities as appropriate
