Analyst Relations (AR) is a key commercial enabler for BT International. Industry analysts (e.g., IDC, Gartner, Forrester, GlobalData) directly influence our reputation and customers’ buying decisions, both through published recommendations and direct advice to customers. Also, analyst firms are an important source of insight for BT International.

Analyst Relations has a key role in influencing clients’ buying decisions. This requires careful management of communications out into the analyst and consultant community. The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to drive creation and execution of core strategic AR programmes for BT International. The Analyst Relations manager will create, nurture, and manage positive relationships with industry analysts, industry influencers, and thought leaders, aiming to drive awareness of our strategy, portfolio, and capabilities, and to secure a positive market sentiment and positioning.

What you’ll be doing:

  1. Manage and execute all aspects of the analyst relations programme and initiatives (analyst reports, relationship building, monitoring research coverage, and ongoing engagements) to drive awareness and to secure positive market coverage for BT International.
  2. Directly educate, inform, and influence analysts and consultants on BT International’s strategy, vision, capabilities, growth, and customer successes.
  3. Secure, improve and maintain a positive coverage in key analyst reports.
  4. Contribute to generating revenue and growth for BT International, in line with the strategy.
  5. Engage directly and independently with the International Leadership Team (ILT), analysts and other high-influence external stakeholders globally; while maintaining professional decorum, attention to detail, timeliness, and excellent individual judgement.
  6. Build AR engagement strategies for individual ILT members, acting as the AR expert to them.
  7. Collaborate and align cross-functionally with internal teams (e.g., external comms, sales, marketing, strategy, product, partner marketing etc.) to drive outbound engagement and inbound insights in alignment with corporate and analyst relations objectives.
  8. Identify and develop spokespeople, including executives and subject matter experts, to ensure fluid and deliberate messages are shared and best practices deployed.
  9. Research, develop and deploy analyst relations best practices to strengthen relationships with analysts.
  10. Bring analyst insight, expertise, and advice into BT International to inform strategy and plans.

The skills you’ll need:

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:

  • Confidence and gravitas to advise BT International’s senior management team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to build and foster relationships.
  • Strategic thinking: ability to balance strategic and creative thinking with tactical and detailed execution.
  • Compelling communications: Ability to tell BT International’s story on a corporate and portfolio-level in a clear, compelling way; developing a deep understanding of analyst audiences and synthesising our internal information. Must be able to distil complex topics into actionable feedback and listen keenly, to both validate existing hypotheses and uncover new insights.
  • Trusted adviser: Can win the trust of senior stakeholders, becoming their go-to expert on analyst relations, and having the confidence to guide their actions.
  • Delivery excellence: extremely reliable, high-quality delivery, to time, and meeting or exceeding stakeholder expectations with a keen eye on attention to details. Ability to challenge current thinking, work under pressure, proactively address issues, and move rapidly in a global, matrix environment.

What we'd like to see from you:

• Engaging with senior stakeholders incl. C-suite – mandatory

  • Strong communication skills – mandatory
  • Track-record of success within a global communications role e.g. worked in analyst relations, public relations, or investor relations – mandatory
  • B2B / telco sector experience – preferable
