The Senior Solution Engineer (SE) is a high-impact, technical pre-sales role responsible for bridging the gap between complex data management challenges and the Boomi suite of technical solutions. You will act as the primary technical advisor and product advocate, designing architectures that empower organizations to govern, integrate, and activate their data at scale.
This role requires a unique blend of deep technical expertise, architectural design thinking, and the ability to communicate business value to executive stakeholders.
Location: UK, Remote
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Discovery & Solution Design
- Partner with Account Executives to identify business pain points and technical requirements within enterprise prospects.
- Design end-to-end data architectures that incorporate data ingestion, quality, governance, and storage.
- Create technical roadmaps that align our product capabilities with the customer’s long-term data strategy (e.g., Data Mesh, Data Lakehouse, or Modern Data Stack).
Technical Value Validation
- Lead the strategy and execution of Proof of Concepts (PoC) and Proof of Value (PoV) engagements.
- Build customized demonstrations and "hands-on" pilots using customer-provided datasets to prove scalability and performance.
- Respond to technical RFI/RFPs, ensuring all security, compliance, and architectural requirements are met.
Stakeholder Management & Evangelism
- Deliver compelling presentations to both technical audiences (Data Engineers, Architects) and business leaders (CDOs, CIOs).
- Translate complex technical features into tangible business outcomes, such as reduced operational costs or improved time-to-insight.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, webinars, and executive briefing sessions.
Product Advocacy
- Serve as a critical feedback loop between the field and the Product/Engineering teams.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, including AI/ML integration, data privacy regulations, and cloud-native developments.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Data Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in SQL and experience with programming languages like Python, Java, or Scala.
- Modern Data Stack: Deep knowledge of cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and ETL/ELT tools (e.g., dbt, Fivetran, Informatica).
- Infrastructure: Experience with cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Data Governance: Familiarity with metadata management, data lineage, and privacy frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
- Master Data Management: Experience understanding and architecting Master Data Management systems (e.g. Reltio, Informatica, Ataccama, Stibo)
Experience & Education
- Professional Experience: Extensive experience in a technical pre-sales, solution architecture, or data engineering role.
- Education: B.S. in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Competencies for Success
- Consultative Selling: The ability to "sell the problem" before selling the solution.
- Communication: Exceptional storytelling skills; able to command a room and simplify the complex.
- Problem Solving: A "get it done" mindset when faced with integration hurdles or legacy system constraints.
- Mentorship: A willingness to coach other team members and contribute to the global SE knowledge base.
