Key Responsibilities

The Senior Program Services Consultant – Procurement Specialist is responsible for providing experienced professional advice and support on a broad spectrum of customer and internal projects, including leading projects within their area of expertise.

Senior PS Consultant - Specialists can expect to:

  • Facilitate complex in-person and virtual sessions to guide technical, procurement, and contract representatives to develop sustainment solutions and contracts to meet the Defence Procurement Strategy requirements, and follow the SBCA process.
  • Draft sustainment documentation to assist teams including Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Statements of Work, Contract documentation, workshop decks and templates.
  • Act as a SBCA Sprint Sustainment Facilitator, including:
    • Guiding the core team on the process;
    • Guiding the team through workshop presentations;
    • Using templates to guide discussions;
    • Directing document facilitator to capture action items and display documents; and
    • Ensuring technical scribe captures appropriate information.
  • Act as SBCA Sprint Technical Scribe, including:
    • Documenting WBS refinements;
    • Summarizing outcomes and outputs from OAs in the Sprint Outcome Document;
    • Capturing pricing approaches within the WBS; and
    • Documenting KPIs and Performance Management Frameworks in Sprint Summary Documents.
  • Provide support to BMT Project Managers across multidisciplinary teams at various locations.
  • Bring best industry practice to the attention of our customers and BMT project leaders, providing guidance in its adoption, or recommendations for future implementation.
  • Build and support a culture of trust and mutual respect on project teams and with customers.
  • Demonstrate a growing ability to anticipate customer needs and meet unwritten expectations.
  • Contribute to the development of peers through formal or informal training, mentoring and guidance activities.
  • Identify, enroll and engage in professional development activities in their area of expertise.
  • Support generalist PS Capability demands as customer work requires.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

We are looking for enthusiastic and flexible team members, who possess the following knowledge, experience, and skills:

  • Membership with a Professional organization relevant to your area of expertise
  • Project Management experience
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal
  • Comfortable presenting, in person, to audiences of 5-30 persons
  • Certification relevant to a PS specialist capability area

Desirable

  • Knowledge and Awareness of Canadian Armed Forces structure and practice
  • Fluent in French
  • Other practical area of specialty, such as finance, procurement, operations, performance, staffing in a government setting, or risk management
