Salary: Circa £47k–£55k (depending on skills and experience)

Permanent | Full-time (flexible part‑time considered)

Hybrid | Peterborough Office (2–3 days per week)

As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you’ll lead a diverse pipeline of strategic sourcing initiatives, playing a pivotal role in delivering commercial outcomes that support our business, our customers and our regulatory commitments.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Own and actively manage a strategic portfolio of sourcing activity

- Deliver high‑value sourcing initiatives on time, generating maximum value

- Lead complex commercial negotiations using best‑practice procurement methodologies

- Build a deep understanding of business needs in your spend areas and provide expert guidance

- Identify spend trends, risks and opportunities, using data and market intelligence to shape decisions

- Ensure systems and documentation support a clear, auditable process

- Build influential, trust‑based relationships with internal and external stakeholders

- Support the Procurement Manager in team leadership and capability development

- Mentor and coach colleagues, helping to build future talent

- Appoint and onboard suppliers using appropriate sourcing frameworks

What You’ll Bring

- CIPS Level 5 or equivalent, or a qualification in procurement/commercial disciplines

- Knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023 and relevant legislation

- Proven experience delivering complex strategic sourcing projects

- Strong commercial acumen and ability to drive best‑value outcomes

- Experience developing sourcing strategies and navigating governance

- Solid understanding of contract structures (NEC experience a plus)

- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills

- A proactive, collaborative mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
