Your Main Responsibilities

His responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Collect and analyse data that will improve supply operations.
  • Provide custom SQL queries for RSAF.
  • Develop GOLDesp and Oracle BI reports.
  • Liaise with Analytical team providing data for KPIs and GOLDesp.
  • Design and implement improvements to current databases. Create programmes to assist desk officers in their tasks of analysing data to support repair, procurement and re-provisioning decisions.
  • Monitor and manage specific projects as required.
  • Ability to analyse and develop supply business functions and develop PC based programmes for use on a LAN system.
  • Maintaining close liaison with the Directorate of Communications & Computing to ensure awareness of all application and programming limitations.
  • Utilize RSAF Publications to identify processes and procedures.
  • Provide OJT to RSAF Supply personnel.
  • Assist the BAES CMS management in the directorate as requested.

Your Skills & Qualifications

The Supply Systems Programmer must have a university degree in Computer Science/Technology and preferably a minimum of 2 years post graduate experience of PC based Applications/Programmes, LAN management, relational databases and Management Information Systems. Preferably have a background in logistics in a military Supply organisation.

Must have completed a recognised Programming Course.

Will have experience of PC Applications/Programmes, databases and Management Information Systems.

Will be able to analyse and develop supply business functions and develop PC based programmes for use on LAN system.

The incumbent is expected have a sound knowledge and working experience in the following:

  • 3-5 years in ORACLE/SQL Development.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in PL/SQL Programming.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in developing, testing and publishing ORACLE BI reports.
  • 3-5 years’ experience application, testing and quality assurance. Preparing test scenarios, test data and documenting test results.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in preparing User Manuals/User Guides for different applications/software.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in implementing Supply Chain Management Systems in Defence Logistics.
  • File Transfer Protocol software.
  • Utilizing applications between client and server.
  • MS Access Database design.
  • Oracle Database Administrator.
  • Programming capability with C++ or Visual Net or Java++.
  • Expert with MS Excel program.
  • XML and .NET technology.
  • Server Administrator.
  • Hold experience and knowledge of accomplishing Logistics data analysis.
  • It is assumed the incumbent will have experience in use of the full suite of Microsoft Office applications.
  • It is essential the incumbent has detailed experience in the use of Microsoft Access as this is the primary tool used by RSAF Supply within HQRSAF for data analysis.
