Job Description

Job Title: Senior Digital Developer

Location: Scotstoun, Filton, Broad Oak, Cowes, New Malden, Frimley. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: Circa £ 55,000

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop fast, responsive data rich UI components within our IoT platform Thingworx, Oracle APEX, Microsoft Power Apps and Siemens Mendix platform
  • Establish coding standards and architectural patterns
  • Build efficient integrations with REST into our enterprise applications
  • Work closely with backend developers and product teams to turn requirements and UX/UI designs into polished digital experiences
  • Participate in code reviews, architectural discussion and sprint planning
  • Coach and support associate and junior developers to progress their tasks and help them grow within their own roles.
  • Champion best practices, continuous improvement, coding standards and provide technical steer to other IT functions

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Strong experience in PL/SQL
  • Good experience in Javascript (E6+), jQuery, React, Typescript
  • Strong experience in web technologies. HTML, CSS
  • Strong experience in web services. SOAP-based and RESTful
  • Strong Object Orientated Analysis and Design experience

Desirable

  • Experience with Thingworx, Mendix, Oracle APEX or PowerApps
  • Understanding of software design patterns
  • BEng/MEng or Computer Science degree

The Digital Development Team

BAE Systems Naval Ships is seeking a passionate and forward‑thinking developer to join our dynamic and highly collaborative Digital Development team. We’re a small, high‑impact group dedicated to building the next generation of capability.

In this role, you’ll help design and develop applications that digitises and streamlines complex workflows, bringing together PLM content and business processes into intuitive solutions.
