Location: Radway Green. Hybrid working – 1 day per week onsite

Job Description:

This role oversees finance for small arms ammunition production and offers the opportunity to contribute to a growing and dynamic part of the business. You will be part of a collaborative team that values innovation, continuous improvement, and the sharing of best practice, helping to drive financial performance and operational excellence across the sites.

Core duties:

  • Partnering with senior operational stakeholders on site to lead on work to monitor and challenge site performance, providing insightful management reporting and actionable financial analysis that supports informed decision-making
  • Supporting the development of the 5-year Integrated Business Plan, contributing to workforce and cost planning, challenging assumptions, and helping shape robust labour and non-labour forecasts across the manufacturing operation
  • Delivering high-quality month-end activities, including accruals, prepayments, journals and purchase requisition support, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial information
  • Maintaining a strong financial control environment, ensuring compliance with corporate policies, supporting audit activities and promoting best practice across the business
  • Translating financial data into meaningful business insight, helping stakeholders understand performance, forecasts, risks, opportunities and key operational drivers
  • Collaborating with finance teams across the wider business, building strong relationships and ensuring clear communication of financial performance, key metrics and strategic priorities

Essential Skills:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience and a demonstrable track record of delivering high-impact Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) in a complex business environment, influencing decision-making through robust financial insight and commercial challenge
  • Advanced financial modelling and analytical capability, with expert Excel skills and the ability to transform complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights that support performance improvement, forecasting accuracy and strategic planning
  • Strong commercial and operational understanding, ideally gained within a manufacturing, engineering or project-based environment, with a proven ability to partner with stakeholders, challenge assumptions and drive business performance through effective financial leadership

The Team:

The Cost Performance team sits within the FP&A function of Munitions Finance, managing costs across our Land UK manufacturing sites. We work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Project Management to provide financial analysis and challenge that supports effective decision-making.
