Job Title: Project Manager – Delivery (Bid)

Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: Circa £64,000 depending on experience and skills plus Car Allowance

What you’ll be doing:

  • Understanding, influencing and shaping the programme delivery and business requirements to develop a contracting strategy and proposal for the remainder of the Dreadnought Programme. By doing so, will allow us to optimally deliver the remainder of the programme aligned to the customer requirements, whilst delivering the Integrated Business Plan objectives of the business
  • You will foster effective joint working at an enterprise level between the customer, including the Dreadnought Alliance and Submarines Delivery Agency to align on the future contracting solution
  • Provide leadership support and ensure alignment with enterprise level initiatives that enable future programme and contract delivery, including ensuring coherency to the wider Submarines Portfolio Acquisition activities covering programme delivery methodology, enterprise relationships and contract types
  • Ensure that the future contracting strategy aligns to the maturity of the programme and takes account of future organisational evolution, operating model and governance requirements
  • Ensure that the Learning from Experience from Delivery Phase 3 is incorporated into the future contracting strategy, covering areas such as contract line item and risk and opportunity optimisation

Your skills and experiences:

  • You will need to have gained strong Bid Management experience
  • Hold demonstrable experience working on complex projects
  • Have a good ability to lead and influence both internal and external stakeholders across a multi-functional domain
  • You will need to have demonstrable experience of leading a team
  • Experience within strategic planning
  • Have an awareness of commercial practices

The Dreadnought Contract Management Team:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Dreadnought Contract Management Team where you will be responsible for developing and evolving key components of the future contracting strategy for the remainder of the Dreadnought programme, through Delivery Phase 4 (DP4). Here you will have the opportunity to the lead interface with the customer, programme delivery teams and functional support teams to mature a ‘best for programme’ and ‘best for business’ contracting strategy and solution. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria
