Job Description

Job Title: Lead Project Professional – Delivery

Location: Weymouth or Frimley – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: Circa £50,000 – depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting development and maintenance of coherent, fully integrated and workable project plans and budgets
  • Developing accurate estimates in support of bids, annual budgets or cost to completion, and analysing “spend to date” data
  • Leading, controlling and monitoring work packages so that they are delivered to agreed time, cost and quality requirements, regularly reviewing and reporting on progress against plan
  • Required to be subjected to Change Management
  • Leading and managing production of various progress reports i.e. Control Account Manager, risk, etc. using appropriate tools such as EVM
  • Developing, maintaining and managing key relationships with sub-system teams, customers and other stakeholders
  • Leading and managing the development, agreement and resolution of project risk and opportunities, assumptions, dependencies and exclusions
  • Responsible for managing direct and indirect reports

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

  • Strong understanding of budgeting and financial management principles
  • Proven experience in project planning, scheduling and execution
  • Experience in risk identification, response planning, response implementation and ongoing management of risk exposure
  • Sub-contract management experience

Desirable

  • Experience liaising with key stakeholders Experience in negotiating and managing contracts with key suppliers
  • Ability to ensure compatibility with key interfaces and minimise conflict between dependencies
  • Proficient with Jira tasking software and project management tools

The Dreadnought Specialist Engineering Services team:

As a part of the Dreadnought Specialist Engineering Services team, you will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the day-to-day management and delivery of the Dreadnought project’s Safety Engineering.

You will have an opportunity to manage a complex multimillion pounds package of work which is significant to the Design, Build and Commissioning to the Dreadnought Programme. This role also offers some fantastic development opportunities, with a clear focus on your career and a priority with setting a 5 year plan as well as opportunities to develop further within the SSNA Programme. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
