About the OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Finance Officer. Reporting to our Financial Analyst, this role is responsible for supporting our US Government accounting team with collating and analysing expenditure data from multiple projects. This role is a great opportunity for an entry level careers professional looking to move into the Defence sector.

This role will be based out of our Flinders St office in SA.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Checking and analysing expenditure to ensure it meets requirements in line with contracts
  • Preparation of monthly journals and reconciliations
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and maintenance of positive relationships within the broader business
  • Preparation of monthly data files
  • Identifying issues and improvement points within processes
  • Ad hoc tasks as requested

About YOU

You’ll have:

  • Ability to use good written and verbal communication skills is important to this role
  • An investigative mindset
  • Ability to interact effectively with colleagues within and outside immediate team, to implement business requirements
  • Previous experience in a finance related role (desirable)
  • Experience in Business Expenses (company credit cards and employee reimbursements, using CONCUR highly desirable)
  • Well-developed self-management skills and demonstrated ability to work under their own initiative to deliver accurate outputs to time
  • Experience in using an integrated ERP system (desirable)
  • Intermediate MS Office skills, especially in Word and Excel.
  • Experience with Tableau (desirable)

As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and either possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearances. Further information regarding security clearances

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
