Job Location: This role is based in Newcastle, NSW

This is a part‑time role worked over four days per week, or equivalent hours spread across five days, with hybrid working included.

Role Description

As the Business Operations Project Manager, you will lead the identification, assessment, and delivery of cross-functional business integration initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, effectiveness, and strategic capability. The role translates business needs into fit-for-purpose solutions by evaluating enterprise tools, alternative options, and bespoke opportunities, and leads end-to-end delivery with a strong focus on value realisation, stakeholder engagement, and sustainable change adoption.

Core Duties

  • Business Need Identification & Problem Framing: Engage with senior stakeholders to clarify and define business problems
  • Solution Assessment & Option Analysis: Assess suitability of existing enterprise tools, recommend fit -for-purpose solutions
  • Project Delivery: Lead end-to-end project delivery using structured methodologies (e.g. PMBOK, Agile, hybrid)
  • Change Management & Adoption: Develop and execute change management strategies to ensure successful adoption. Assess change impacts across people, process, and systems
  • Stakeholder Management & Engagement: Build strong relationships across Program and Project teams, Business Operations, IT / Enterprise functions, Senior leadership
  • Benefits Realisation & Value Management: Define clear value propositions and success metrics for all initiatives, develop and track ROI
  • Integration & Governance: Ensure solutions integrate effectively across Systems, Processes, Teams

About You

  • Proven experience delivering cross-functional projects
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Demonstrated capability in change management and adoption
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business needs into structured solutions
  • Experience developing business cases, ROI, and benefits realisation
  • Solid understanding of project delivery disciplines (cost, schedule, quality, risk)
  • Experience working with enterprise systems / digital tools / IT delivery
  • An existing Australian Defence Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain one

Our BAE Systems Aerospace business provides aircraft design, development, production, training, support and maintenance for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF).
