Job Description

Job Title: Business Development Operations

Salary: Up to £44,000 dependent on skills and experience

Location: Portsmouth Broad Oak – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

What you’ll be doing:

  • Manage the inputs required from the Business Development team to support core business reporting, such as preparation of the Bid Status (BSR) pack
  • Provide regular plan / schedule updates including earned value monitoring, estimates to completion and preparation of inputs to Control Account Management (CAM), Bid Status Reviews (BSR) and Contract Status- Report (CSR) reviews
  • Support Life Cycle Management reviews: scheduling reviews, provision of material, management of actions, configuration control of accompanying data and certificates, across all bids in Naval Ships
  • Maintain the Microsoft Dynamics toolset and data for Naval Ships Business Development opportunities
  • Undertake advanced problem solving typically based on previous experience
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of Business process and procedures
  • Have administration and general office skills including spreadsheets/Microsoft packages
  • Ensure essential procedures are followed based on own knowledge of Project Management

Your skills and experiences:

  • Qualified to Degree standard or equivalent
  • Experience of understanding business requirements
  • Experience of operating within a customer environment
  • Good Business Development/Sales skills

The Naval Ships Business Development Team:

BAE Systems Naval Ships provides ship building and ship design services to UK and international customers, also within the Naval Ships business is Combat Systems where we design and integrate mission systems tailored to our customers’ needs. Within the business development team there are 5 Business Development managers focused on growing our order book both at home and on the global stage. This role represents a key part of what we do in supporting the growth activity, managing budgets, leading on reporting and supporting the team to deliver.
