Location: Portsmouth Naval Base or Filton, Bristol

Role description:

Help to maintain an accurate configuration of warships by interrogating engineering drawings and related technical documentation, to ensure the project datasets are updated, including maintenance information, spares and tools. The post holder will also investigate and responding to Customer queries received by the project relating to the data held within our toolsets.

Core Duties:

  • Interrogating engineering drawings to populate Project toolsets
  • Managing questions relating to the data held within our toolsets, producing coherent responses that satisfactorily close out the query
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders where required, including provision of advice and guidance on the Project data requirements, to enable right-first-time integration
  • Identifying and resolving misalignment between data held within our toolsets and external sources
  • Managing own tasking to meet task deadlines, quality standards and budget demands

Essential skills:

  • You will have good general engineering knowledge with an ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Full training will be given to the right candidate. Knowledge of using a Logistics Support Analysis Record (LSAR) or Common Source Database (CSDB) would be advantageous
  • An understanding of the principles of one or more of DefStan 00-600, ASD S2000L, S3000M would be advantageous
  • An understanding of configuration management principles and SQL knowledge would be advantageous

The BAE Systems Data Services team:

The BAE Systems Data Services team provides Logistic Support Analysis to in-build and in-service warships including the Type 45 Destroyer, Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carriers and Type 26 ASW Frigates. You will be responsible for maintaining an LSAR for the ships, focusing on the integration of data (supplier data, maintenance data and design information) within the projects various toolsets.
