Job Title: Project Management Senior Professional

Location: Portsmouth Naval Base – 3 days onsite per week

Role description:

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for individual, team and department levels, capturing and delivering of high priority/strategically important projects within the Design Services Engineering Projects, as well as liaising with future customers to increase the likelihood of receiving opportunities into the business.

Core Duties:

  • Pulling-through of order intake from existing customers & contracts
  • Identifying & winning new work and building relationships with new customers
  • Leading a cross-functional team of direct/indirect colleagues and will be responsible for adapting their programme plans & priorities to address resource and operational changes
  • Managing the budget, performance and results of their team
  • Maintaining the project management weekly/monthly activities to help successfully lead a proactive team
  • Responsible for cash sales and margin for relevant projects within Maritime Services

Essential skills:

  • You’ll have extensive project management fundamentals experience e.g., full lifecycle management, bidding, capturing and delivering
  • You’ll have proven experience leading multiple concurrent projects and overseeing the performance of project teams
  • You’ll hold recognised professional project management qualifications (e.g., APMP/PMQ) and relevant degree‑level education, or equivalent senior‑level experience

Design Services Engineering Projects team:

This role will provide you with the opportunity to become part of an experienced Engineering Projects team, dealing from installing state of the art technology on to warships to futuristic concepts. The team deals with a magnitude of different projects with the full project life cycle where you will work alongside various stakeholder developing your skills that could lead to further opportunities within the wider BAE Systems Business.
