Salary: Circa £35,629 (working on standby, 24% uplift)

Who We Are?

Integrated Maintenance, Repair & Development Services (IMRDS) Alliance – Part of the Anglian Water network, focuses on infrastructure maintenance work and is responsible for: water network pressure management, finding and fixing leaks, replacing lead pipes and repairing burst mains.

What Will You Be Doing as a Restoration Technician?

As a Restoration Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring our customers continue to receive safe, clean drinking water during planned works, supply interruptions, and emergency incidents.

Working within a regional Restoration team, you'll deploy specialist restoration equipment and bespoke water supply solutions to minimise disruption for customers. Whether responding to operational incidents, supporting capital delivery programmes, or helping during major events, you'll be at the forefront of maintaining water supplies across the region.

You'll receive training in a wide range of specialist skills, including HGV tanker operations, line stopping technology, emergency water quality activities, and temporary overland supply systems. No two days will be the same, and you'll become a key ambassador for Anglian Water, delivering excellent customer service while helping maintain industry-leading standards of water supply resilience.

As part of the role, you'll participate in an out-of-hours standby rota, helping provide support to customers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy and recover restoration plant and equipment to support planned and reactive interruption-to-supply events
• Design and implement bespoke temporary water supply solutions in partnership with operational teams
• Lead restoration deployments onsite, ensuring safe, effective, and timely delivery
• Communicate deployment updates and progress to the Operational Management Centre (OMC)
• Carry out site surveys to ensure restoration activities are implemented right first time
• Maintain restoration equipment, tankers, and plant in a constant state of readiness
• Coordinate planned maintenance, inspections, repairs, and servicing of restoration assets and tanker fleets
• Perform routine water quality testing associated with restoration activities and equipment maintenance
• Ensure compliance with water quality, health and safety, and operational procedures
• Support major incidents and emergency response activities across the Anglian Water region
• Provide technical expertise and advice to operational teams regarding restoration solutions and equipment
• Deliver training and knowledge sharing to colleagues to support a flexible workforce model
• Support system improvements, equipment reviews, and future investment decisions within the restoration service

• Willingness to learn new skills and undertake specialist technical training

A Little Bit About Your Skills, Experience, and Behaviours…

• Experience within utilities, water operations, field services, engineering, logistics, construction, or a similar operational environment
• Experience operating, maintaining, or deploying equipment in a field-based setting
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements and safe systems of work
• Good IT skills with the ability to update and manage information within company systems
• Experience working with internal and external stakeholders to achieve operational outcomes
• Ability to manage workload effectively while responding to operational priorities and incidents
• Experience driving larger vehicles or willingness to undertake HGV training would be advantageous
• Understanding of water quality principles or operational compliance requirements is desirable
• A commitment to continuous improvement and delivering excellent customer outcomes
