Salary: From £50,000, dependent on skills and experience + Car Allowance
Permanent, Full-time, with flexibility for part-time.
Base Location: Wing Water Treatment Works, Rutland and surrounding areas

We’re looking for a proactive operational leader to support our frontline teams and help drive strong performance, safety, and the reliable delivery of high-quality drinking water across a critical supply area.

As a Supply Support Manager, you’ll work closely with the Supply Manager to support the leadership and day‑to‑day performance of multi‑disciplined teams of Works Technicians operating and maintaining our water supply assets. You’ll champion safety and help ensure the efficient, risk‑based delivery of operational activities, excellent customer service, and continual improvement across operational sites, including contributions to optimisation initiatives and capital engineering schemes.

Essential Service – Your work ensures 1.3bn litres of safe, clean drinking water reaches 5 million customers in homes, hospitals, and businesses. Whether day to day or during emergencies your team is on the front-line keeping services running.

Operational leadership & live problem solving – You’ll provide hands-on managerial and operational support to our frontline teams, championing safety and driving continual improvement across water supply assets and processes. You’ll coordinate activities, prioritise resources, and solve real‑time operational challenges using data‑led decision making - no two days are the same.

Future focus – You’ll be involved in integrating capital investment, future schemes, and new assets and technology into live supply systems, playing an active role from design through to commissioning and shaping how water is delivered now and in the years ahead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Water Supply Manager in day-to-day performance management to ensure operational excellence

  • Assess and understand risks and make informed operational decisions

  • Promote efficient delivery of work activities by effectively prioritising competing planned and unplanned demands, ensuring reliable service delivery while upholding the highest standards of safety and quality.

  • Provide operational support during incidents and proactively assist in preventing service interruptions

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to manage operational risk and resolve customer queries

  • Through visible leadership, coach and develop technicians to maintain compliance with safety, service, and quality expectations.

  • Champion a strong Health, Safety & wellbeing culture, leading by example and aligning with our Safer Every Day principles

  • Contribute to the capital engineering process, supporting delivery of site enhancements and optimisation solutions

What does it take to be a Supply Support Manager?

  • Experience in the Water Industry (preferred)

  • Demonstrate experience of leadership skills within an operational environment

  • Experience in incident management and stakeholder engagement

  • Strong operational environment Health & Safety knowledge

  • Experience of integrating large capital schemes into operational sites. (Desirable)

  • Excellent communicator with the ability to develop people, challenge and drive change

  • Proactive and forward-thinking approach to problem-solving

  • A full UK driving licence
