Job Description

Salary: Circa £52,000, dependent on skills and experience
Permanent, Full-time, with flexibility for part-time
Base Location: Flexible, with travel required across the Anglian Water region

Our services are at the heart of every single family and community in our region. Our Water Services team clean water to the highest standard, deliver it to millions of homes, and carefully manage it to ensure it never runs out. We borrow water from the environment, store it and treat it to world-class standards to supply safe drinking water to 4.3 million customers in towns and villages from Grimsby in the northeast of our region to Milton Keynes at the south-western tip.

As Production Planning Implementation Lead, you will be accountable for leading the implementation, readiness and enablement of Production Plans across the water supply system. Acting as the bridge between Production Planning and Operational Control, you will ensure that production plans, system changes, technologies and methodologies are translated into clear, system ready actions that can be safely and effectively adopted by control teams.

You will play a central role in enabling the move from reactive to proactive, increasingly automated and system led operation, with a clear focus on readiness, integration, assurance and risk management rather than real-time control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the translation of agreed Production Plans into executable, system ready implementation actions

  • Own the implementation readiness process, including validation of assumptions, dependencies, system impacts and risks

  • Establish clear hand-off points between Production Planning, implementation activity and Operational Control

  • Act as the focal point for integration of new and existing control systems, technologies and methodologies

  • Lead assurance activities to ensure changes do not introduce unacceptable risk to customers, regulation, the environment, or system resilience

  • Set and embed principles, standards, and best practice for production plan implementation

  • Collaborate with planning, frontline, engineering, and digital teams to manage capacity impacting works

  • Support and help develop a Centre of Excellence for Proactive Controllers, including workshops, standards, and training

Requirements

  • Strong and proven leadership capability

  • Extensive operational experience within the water industry

  • In-depth knowledge of water production control systems and control assets

  • Experience leading within high performing, data driven operational teams

  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, practical implementation guidance

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive change

  • Degree level education or equivalent experience (desirable)

As a valued employee, you’ll be entitled to:
• Personal private health care
• 26 days leave (rising with service) + Bank Holidays, with flexibility for religious holidays
• Life Cover at 8x your salary
• Personal Accident cover – up to 5x your salary
• Flexible working options
• Competitive pension scheme – Anglian Water double-matches your contributions up to 6%
• Bonus scheme
• Flexible benefits to support your wellbeing and lifestyle
