Job Description

Corporate Affairs Copywriter
Location: Hybrid – based at our Huntingdon office at least one day per week, with the flexibility to work remotely for the rest of the time.
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full-time, with flexibility for part time working
Salary: circa- £40,000- depending on skill and experience

About the Role

The Copywriter will develop and deliver high-quality written content for a range of Corporate Affairs channels and publications, ensuring consistency of tone, style, and brand. Main responsibilities will be to produce clear, engaging copy, with a particular focus on our corporate narrative, including our suite of statutory and regulatory reports.

Alongside this, the Copywriter will support the wider Corporate Affairs department with writing copy for campaigns, our website, media announcements and case studies for both an internal and external audience.

The role requires excellent attention to detail and the ability to translate technical information into compelling and accessible content.

Key Accountabilities

  • Source and write stories that that bring our strategy, performance, and impact to life, which can be used across multiple communications channels: our website, intranet, social media, newsletters, speeches, campaign assets, and printed materials.

  • Working closely with the Senior Corporate Reporting Manager, contribute to the writing and publishing of the Annual Integrated Report, managing relationships with key stakeholders and data specialists across the business to interpret performance. Stakeholders vary from sustainability, operations, people, legal, regulation and strategy.

  • Support the Senior Corporate Reporting Manager with project management, including keeping stakeholders on track with timescales and deadlines.

  • Guard tone of voice, style and brand; coach colleagues to adopt consistent editorial standards and ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency.

  • Work closely with our in-house design team to bring our narrative to life.

  • Use insights/analytics to test and evolve content.

  • Writing design and content briefs including presentations and/or speaker notes for our C-suite.

About you

We are looking for someone who can offer -

  • First-class writing, editing and proofing with good attention to detail.

  • Able to write for different audiences/channels.

  • Good stakeholder management; calm under pressure and can balance multiple priorities and deadlines, quickly pivoting when things change.

  • Comfortable using analytics to improve performance and experience with communications platforms.

  • Degree (or equivalent) and work which demonstrates clarity, accuracy and range of written style.
