Airbus is looking for a Product Owner to join the Bangalore, India location for its Skywise (an Airbus digital Services company) under Airbus India roof - as part of the Product Management team for Skywise.

Product Owner - Command+ (Skywise) role is part of the Digital function of Airbus India. He/She is responsible for business / operational needs collection with the Product Management, converting them into User Stories, and then working closely with the development team to get these User Stories properly implemented as per Definition of Done objectives.

You will lead by example on the deployment of Lean-Agile principles, breaking the silos, and ensuring any development fits with the overall Portfolio framework vision.

Also actively ensuring that Skywise processes are successful in bridging the gap between “by the book” recommendations and daily practices which can be more driven by business objectives.

This position is open to fulfil the need for Product Ownership for multiple teams.

As a Product Owner you will serve as a highly specialised product lead responsible for contributing to the product vision and roadmap, driving continuous improvement, connecting with customers for business needs, owning the product backlog, supporting value-delivery and get/give feedback.

This position will report to a Group Manager / Chapter Leader within Airbus India. Passion for technology and problem solving are a must have.

  • Bachelor/Master Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or any relevant field with 7-10 years of overall experience

Core roles & responsibilities:

  • Lead the Command+ Sub-Product Team under the Skywise scope from Digital India, Skywise, Airbus
  • Responsible for the end to end Product Lifecycle Management of products in scope
  • Define, simplify and detail the User Stories derived from Epics / Features
  • Understanding the business need of the product and supporting the build of Product Strategy and Roadmap definition
  • Helping the development team understand the business need behind the User Stories and Tasks and convert the functional needs into technical requirements
  • Ensures that the known Product/Application or Service vision is translated into a prioritised backlog in alignment with the business teams.
  • Supporting the Product Team in Delivering Value through Products in-scope
  • Responsible for Continuous Release Management.
  • Proactively and frequently, received, apply and provide feedback to all stakeholders
  • Participate and Facilitate some of the common product-specific ceremonies like Backlog Refinement Sessions, Features assessment and dividing them further into User stories, etc.
  • Accountable for acceptance of stories developed by the team and ensuring all corner scenarios are taken care of as per business requirements
  • Accountable for designing and reporting key metrics and performance indicators related to the Product to the management team
  • Accountable for driving the Performance monitoring activities for the related products

Qualifications:

MUST Have:

  • Working experience on Agile and SAFe methodologies / willing to upskill rapidly on the same
  • Knowledge and experience as a Product Owner on IT product / applications for at least 3-4 years for a multinational organisation
  • Good IT skills on medium to large scale products and applications related to - development, testing, Code Configuration Management, Software Development Lifecycle
  • Quality management (agile preferred)
  • Resource and Stakeholder Management experience
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.

GOOD TO HAVE

  • (Preferred) Experience and expertise on the Aerospace domain related Software products, aerospace domain knowledge, Flight Operations knowledge, etc.
  • (Preferred) Knowledge on or systems related to Aircraft trajectory, flight planning/management, data and inputs related to the same, navigational systems / data, etc.
  • SAFe PO/PM Trained and/or Certified
  • AGILE for Project Management (2 - Autonomous Level)
  • Project Management Fundamentals (2 - Autonomous Level)
  • French knowledge will be an added value
