Salary: Competitive and dependent on skills, experience and qualifications
Location: Prestwick, Ayrshire
Hours: 37 hours per week (half-day Friday)
Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Number of Vacancies: 2
Travel Required: Occasional
Work Location: Primarily site-based

Security Checks: BPSS, Disclosure Scotland, pre-employment medical (including drug and alcohol testing)

Prestwick Aerosystems is proud to continue Ayrshire's long-standing aircraft manufacturing heritage. From our Prestwick site, we manufacture major aircraft wing structures used on Airbus commercial aircraft worldwide. As part of the Airbus family, we play a key role in delivering safe, reliable and high-quality aerospace products.

We are looking for two Payroll Officers to join our Human Resources team and support the delivery of payroll and workforce management services across the business.

As a Payroll Officer, you will help ensure that payroll is delivered accurately, compliantly and on time for approximately 1,300 employees. You will act as a key point of contact for payroll and workforce management queries, supporting managers and employees while maintaining high standards of data integrity, compliance and service delivery.

You will also contribute to payroll system improvements, audits and process enhancements that support operational performance and employee experience.

How You Will Contribute to the Team

You will:

  • Manage payroll preparation, validation and processing activities to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.
  • Provide specialist guidance and support to managers and employees on payroll and workforce management processes.
  • Review payroll data, reconciliations and calculations, investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies and queries.
  • Support payroll audits, system developments and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance payroll efficiency and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with company policies and relevant legislation.
  • Build effective working relationships with managers, employees and external stakeholders to deliver a high-quality payroll service.

Requirements for the Role

You Will Have:

  • Experience using Dayforce payroll and workforce management system.
  • Experience processing payroll within a complex organisation.
  • Knowledge of payroll legislation including PAYE, National Insurance, pensions and statutory payments.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis, reporting and reconciliation activities.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

It Would Be Desirable If You Have:

  • Experience using Workday HR systems.
  • Experience of working on end-to-end payroll
  • Experience supporting payroll audits or system implementation activities.
  • Professional payroll qualifications or relevant continuing professional development.
