Salary: Circa £32,000 per annum
Location: Huntingdon / Hybrid
Contract: Fixed Term Contract – 18 months
Working Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week (flexible working opportunities available)

About the role
We're looking for a highly organised and customer-focused People and Payroll Services Advisor to join our People Team.
As a People and Payroll Services Advisor you'll play a vital role in delivering an accurate, compliant and efficient payroll service for our employees. Working across both SAP Payroll and Workday, you'll ensure colleagues are paid correctly and on time, while providing expert guidance on payroll processes, statutory requirements and employee queries.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that is committed to continuous improvement, excellent customer service and finding smarter ways of working. You'll work closely with colleagues across HR, Finance and external providers to ensure payroll processes run smoothly and compliantly.
What will you be doing?
Processing monthly payroll activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payroll legislation.
Managing employee lifecycle payroll activities including starters, movers and leavers.
Maintaining employee data across Workday and SAP systems.
Processing statutory payments and deductions, including maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental pay.
Supporting pension administration, payroll audits and statutory reporting requirements.
Managing payroll-related payments including expenses, company cars, union subscriptions, salary sacrifice schemes and court orders.
Producing payroll reports and carrying out variance checks to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Providing excellent customer service and payroll support to employees, managers and internal stakeholders.
Working collaboratively with HR, Reward, Finance and external providers to resolve payroll queries and improve processes.
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and helping drive efficiencies across payroll operations.
What does it take to be successful?
We're looking for someone who has:
Experience in payroll administration and payroll processing.
Good understanding of PAYE, HMRC requirements and payroll legislation.
Experience maintaining accurate employee records and handling confidential information.
Strong Microsoft 365 skills.
Experience using Workday or similar HR systems.
Experience using a payroll system, ideally SAP.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet key payroll deadlines.
