Role: SOC Manager

Location: London

Salary: Competitive salary and package dependent on experience

Role Description:

The SOC Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for the SOC. This includes ensuring the SOC meets service-level objectives, maintaining compliance, coordinating with external stakeholders and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily SOC operations, ensuring effective monitoring, detection, and response capabilities.

  • Define SOC KPIs, metrics, and reporting frameworks for operational performance and risk visibility.

  • Manage staffing, scheduling, training, and career development for SOC personnel.

  • Ensure alignment of SOC activities with organizational security policies and regulatory obligations.

  • Coordinate with the Incident Response, Threat Intelligence, and IT Operations teams for cross-functional collaboration.

  • Oversee onboarding of new tooling, integrations, and process automations.

  • Lead SOC maturity assessments and drive improvement roadmap initiatives.

  • Represent SOC during internal and external audits and executive reporting sessions.

  • Maintain readiness for major incident management and crisis communication.

Role Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, or related field.

  • Experience: 8–12 years in cybersecurity with 3+ years leading a SOC or Incident Response function.

  • Certifications (preferred): CISSP, CISM, GIAC GSOM, or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer.

  • Skills: Strong leadership, program management, risk awareness, and communication skills. Proven ability to manage technical teams in high-pressure environments.
