Role Purpose

The Internal Engagement Specialist is responsible for developing and executing initiatives that foster employee engagement, strengthen internal communications, and enhance workplace culture. This includes creating visually compelling multimedia content such as videos and graphics.

Key accountabilities & Decision Ownership

  • Accountable for creating and integrating internal communication channels.
  • Delivering calendar events and engagement tickets in line with VBU strategy.
  • Plan and execute engagement events such as team-building activities and recognition events.
  • Create and manage internal communications strategies and content (e.g., newsletters, announcements, intranet updates, internal campaigns).
  • Manage Stakeholders to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness across all engagement projects & activities
  • Forecast spending behaviour trends and budget allocations for engagement activities

Core Competencies, Knowledge & Experience

  • Ability to innovatively design and launch engagement activities.
  • Experience in event planning and digital communication platforms is an asset
  • Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in video editing and graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Canva).
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills

Technical & Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media, Marketing, Human Resources, or a related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in internal communications, employee engagement, or content creation roles
  • Experience in video production and photo editing for internal or external use
  • Familiarity with tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or CapCut
  • Experience managing internal communications platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Yammer, intranet systems)
