About this Role

We are seeking a skilled System Expert, Managed Services to provide advanced technical leadership across telecom network operations, managed services, automation, cloud transformation and core network platforms. The role is based in Bangalore, India, within Managed Services, reporting to the NOC Operations Manager.The individual will act as a technical reference point for teams supporting live IT and telecommunications systems, including activities related to data build configuration, software rollout, support integration, third-line technical support, troubleshooting, vendor escalation, automation and operational optimisation.This role supports telecom operators, including Vodafone operating companies, joint ventures and external customers, ensuring data loading, service restoration, incident handling and network recovery activities are completed in line with agreed procedures, SLAs and KPIs.

What you’ll do

  • Provide expert technical support for live IT and telecommunications systems across managed services operations.
  • Perform data build configuration, software rollout and support integration activities requested by planning and delivery teams.
  • Act as a technical reference point for coding, troubleshooting, operational processes and best practice adoption across engineering teams.
  • Develop, implement, modify, test and harmonise software and hardware solutions within information systems and telecom applications.
  • Lead the design and architecture of complex multi-domain technical solutions aligned with business strategy and critical business functions
  • Drive research and development initiatives from concept to implementation, with a focus on automation, emerging technologies and long-term operational value.
  • Investigate and resolve highly complex technical issues received from NOC, COPS and SAC teams using programming, debugging and telecom-specific methods.
  • Lead root cause analysis, incident resolution, defect tracking, service restoration and performance improvement activities.
  • Escalate technical issues to vendors and collaborate with internal teams to support rapid issue resolution and service continuity.
  • Design, implement and maintain automation and robotic process solutions to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual work and enhance customer experience.
  • Support business continuity planning, disaster recovery and special event network readiness activities.
  • Maintain network documentation, including HLDs, LLDs and operational procedures, in line with network development and technology updates.
  • Mentor engineering teams, share technical knowledge and support technical training to strengthen capabilities across deployment and operations.

Who you are

  • You have a BTech or BE degree in Electronics or Telecommunications.
  • You bring 11 to 16 years of experience in the telecommunications industry.
  • You have technical leadership experience across Ericsson IMS, VoLTE, VoWiFi, VoNR, SMS over IMS, RCS, CS Core, EPC and 5G Core domains.
  • You can lead architecture, design governance and roadmap evolution for voice, messaging, roaming, interconnect and next-generation communication services.
  • You can lead complex troubleshooting, multi-vendor interoperability investigations, signalling design reviews and root cause analysis for critical service incidents
  • You have experience providing technical oversight for Ericsson, Nokia and Oracle SBC platforms across IMS, EPC and Core Network domains.
  • You understand HLDs, LLDs, vendor solutions, acceptance testing and transformation programmes.
  • You have experience with cloud and network transformation technologies such as VMware, OpenStack, NFV, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, CI/CD, automation, Python, Ansible, REST APIs and Infrastructure as Code. You can manage service KPIs including VoLTE Registration Success Rate, CSSR, Call Drop Rate, Service Accessibility, Service Retainability, RTP Quality, Capacity Planning and Scalability Management.
  • You understand security practices covering IMS security, SBC security, SIP attack mitigation, fraud prevention, secure signalling and regulatory compliance.
  • You have experience in vendor governance, performance improvement, operational excellence, technology modernisation and cross-functional collaboration.

Desirable experience

  • Multi-vendor Core product experience.
  • Experience working on large installations using independent judgement and initiative.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming languages such as Java, C++ or Python
  • Knowledge of scripting, command line usage and operating system administration across Windows and Unix.
  • Knowledge of cloud fundamentals.
  • Strong knowledge of robotic process automation software and tools.
  • Ability to support team leadership responsibilities when required in urgent circumstances.
