Role Purpose

To fully support the company’s strategic objectives through the provision of Legal advisory, contract management, effective management of legal risks and litigation.

Key Accountabilities

  • Legal advisory and risk management – conduct legal research, provide legal advice to different business units and maintain an effective risk management system.
  • Compliance management – ensure that business operates in compliance with applicable laws
  • Contract management – negotiate, review, prepare and execute contracts taking into account the legal implications and ensure that the company’s commercial interests are maintained.
  • Litigation management – prepare necessary documentation and represent the company in the courts of law where business initiates or defends legal action

Competencies

  • Demonstrate excellent legal research skills, statutory interpretation and administrative law skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise judgement on legal issues.
  • Good verbal and written communication.

  • LLB
  • Admission to practice
