About this Role

Within the Telco domain, network programmability and automation are critical enablers of efficiency, resilience, and scalability. Vodafone is developing global SDN-based automation solutions for Transport and Transmission networks, increasingly enhanced with AI / GenAI capabilities to improve decision-making, reduce manual effort, and accelerate innovation.

The Automation Agile Product Owner is responsible for owning and driving the AI-enabled automation roadmap. Acting as a key cross-functional interface, the role bridges business, engineering, and data teams to maximise the value delivered by Agile development teams. The role ensures alignment between product vision, stakeholder needs, and execution, with a focus on delivering scalable AI-driven SDN automation solutions

What you’ll do

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

  • Define and own the product vision, roadmap, epics, and release scope for AI/GenAI SDN automation solutions.
  • Manage and prioritise the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business priorities, dependencies, and delivery capacity.
  • Translate business, operational, and user needs into clear user stories, features, and backlog items.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement across product, engineering, and leadership teams to ensure alignment and shared understanding.
  • Drive use case definition and value realisation for AI-enabled automation (e.g. assurance, optimisation, anomaly detection

Who you are

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum) and product ownership practices.
  • Solid knowledge of SDN and transport network technologies in a multi-vendor environment.
  • Strong AI / Gen AI experience in Automation (LLMs, prompt engineering, and real‑world applications) and /or relevant certifications
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience in backlog management, requirement engineering, and product lifecycle delivery.

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

  • Experience in software development, design, and Agile frameworks (2–3 years).
  • Knowledge of SDN technologies, including REST/RESTCONF/NETCONF APIs and YANG data models.
  • Relevant experience and knowledge in AI/ GenAI automation, ML models
