You will own the team backlog for an Agile team operating within an Agile Release Train (ART), and you will do it as someone who has written production code, sat through releases, and understands what a story actually costs to build.

This is deliberately a technical Product Owner role. We are not looking for a pure business analyst or a scrum administrator. We want someone who can sit with engineers, read the design, challenge an estimate on its merits, and still hold a credible conversation with stakeholders about value and priority.

You will be the voice of the customer inside the team and the single point of decision on what gets built next.

Experience: 8+ Years

What you'll do-

• Break features handed down from Product Management into user stories and technical enablers with clear acceptance criteria

• Sequence work based on value, dependencies, technical risk and capacity and be able to explain the sequence to anyone who asks

• Make informed calls on technical debt and enabler work, because you understand what it buys the team Drive the SAFe cadence

• Represent the team at PI Planning: contribute to planning objectives, negotiate scope, surface and resolve dependencies with other teams on the train

• Run backlog refinement and participate in Iteration Planning, Iteration Review, System Demo and Inspect & Adapt

• Work alongside the Scrum Master / Team Coach, Product Management, the RTE and the System Architect to keep the team aligned with ART priorities Accept the work

• Be the sole accepter of stories against defined acceptance criteria and the Definition of Done

• Validate what was built against what was intended, including non-functional requirements performance, security, maintainability

• Provide fast, unambiguous answers to the team during the iteration; unblocking is a core part of the job, not an interruption Represent the customer and the stakeholders

• Gather input from users, business stakeholders and support/operations, and translate it into backlog items

• Keep stakeholders informed on progress, trade-offs and changes no surprises at the demo

• Push back, with reasoning, when scope requests threaten quality or committed PI objectives

Skills Needed-

Essential:

• Software development life cycle: a solid, practical understanding of the full SDLC requirements, design,

development, testing, release and maintenance and how decisions early in the cycle play out later

• Object-oriented development: hands-on experience building software in at least one of Java, C++ or C#

• Front-end technologies: working experience with front-end frameworks and libraries such as Angular,

jQuery, Ext JS or Node.js

• Demonstrable experience as a Product Owner in a scaled Agile setup (SAFe, or an equivalent multi-team

model such as LeSS or Nexus)

• Practical, first-hand participation in PI Planning and the full SAFe iteration cadence not just theoretical

familiarity

• Strong story writing: clear acceptance criteria, INVEST-shaped stories, well-defined enablers

• Confidence prioritising with an explicit method (WSJF, cost of delay, or similar) and defending those

decisions to senior stakeholders

• Comfort working with distributed teams across time zones, including counterparts in [Europe / other regions]

• Excellent written and verbal communication in English

• Fluency with backlog and collaboration tooling Jira / Azure DevOps, Confluence

Preferred:

• Aerospace domain experience exposure to aerospace or aviation programmes, systems or regulatory

context

• SAFe Product Owner / Product Manager (POPM) certification, or willingness to certify within the first six

months
