Job Description
Role Purpose
Planning, Design & Test
- Plan and design new fiber infrastructures NLD, Metro, FTTH \ B for the Financial Year Rollout
- Re-design the Fiber network in compliance with Best Gigabit Network Target and footprint expansions
- Perform Fiber Network Survey and produce Transmission Reports
- Design Network Resilience in compliance with Group Tech 25-30 strategy
- Align with VBU & CBU strategy on FTTH \ B network and generate the scopes of work
- Supervise the FTTH \ B Network rollout and expansion to new home-connected
- In-charge of Next Generation Fiber Networking Proof Of Concept
Performances Management
- Proactively plan and upgrade fiber link running closer to 70% threshold of the configured capacity
- Interface with Transport Divisions on Capacity requirements and New Integrations on the F.O.N
- In-charge of the Optic Fibers Network changes implementation
- Interface with the Optic Fiber Active Equipment Suppliers for new Features implementation and Software upgrades
- In-chage of the monthly domestic and international Leased Lines SLA monitoring & delivery
Technical Support
- Technical Support to EBU & VBU on fiber services SLA
- Support fiber field maintenance teams with fiber infrastructure planning details
- Support offices and shop integartion to fiber infrastructure
Project Implementation
- Co-ordinate the installation of the new fiber links NLD, FTTS, FTTH \ B.
- Supervise the Integration of New fiber links NLD, FTTS, FTTH \ B into the live network
- Perform Acceptance Tests in coordination with Field Operations
D.B Management
- Keep an updated record of the fiber network resources allocations & utilization
- Keep a records of the fiber networks documents (as-built, kmz, splicing diagram, …)
- Keep updated the fiber network planning and performances databases with most accurate information, provide access to authorized staffs \ users
- Draw and Update weekly the Vodacom DRC Optic Fibers Networks Architecture and Usage Databas
- Plan, provision & keep a record of fiber network resources
- Follow up daily & weekly on fiber network rollout, ensure delivery in compliance with project SCOPE & delivery SLA
Role Requirement
Compliance
- Follow up on new project implementations, enforcing the compliance with the SoW and HSE
- Enforce the compliance to Vodafone HSE standard by Fiber Services Suppliers
- Enforce the compliance to ARPTC fiber planning & implementation standard by Fiber Services Suppliers
Efficiency
- Plan, design and implement fiber sharing initiatives to save cost
- Plan, Design and implement fiber Co-building initiatives to save cost
Administration
- Issue RFP, RFQ, Armonize for New Projects
- Evaluate fiber Suppliers and Vendors performances
- Manage the F.O Active Equipment stock and outbound, ensuring 5% spares parts for each project.
- In-chage of the monthly Leased Lines SLA reconciliation & GRN with Services Providers
Optimize FTTS, FTTB \ H Networks
- Assist in determining technical outcomes of Project plans.
- Prioritize Outcomes in terms of critical path analysis.
Human Resources Management
- Identify Individuals to perform technical outcomes in accordance with project requirements
Skills and Computer Abilities
- Google planning tools skills (google map, …)
- Advanced skills (excel, word, project, visio …)
- Transport Network Systems Design, Performances & Maintenance skills
