About this role

Location: London OR Newbury OR Lisbon We are seeking a Solution Architect to take global accountability for the architecture of Office IT Infrastructure within the SSO & Cloud Strategy domain. This role plays a critical part in shaping strategy, defining standards, and evolving architecture to ensure a consistent, secure, and high-quality end‑user experience across Vodafone’s operating subsidiaries and centrally managed services. Based in Germany, the UK, or Portugal, the role partners closely with senior stakeholders across technology and business functions to translate business requirements into robust, compliant solution architectures.

What you’ll do

  • Own and govern the architecture for Office IT Infrastructure SSO & Cloud Strategy solutions across all local markets and Group services.
  • Translate business and functional requirements into clear solution blueprints aligned to enterprise and application architecture goals.
  • Define and evolve strategy, standards, and architectural roadmaps for key capabilities such as Active Directory, Entra ID, MFA, passwordless authentication, and cloud-based SSO integrations.
  • Identify emerging trends, technologies, risks, and opportunities that may influence Office IT strategy and service delivery.
  • Act as a trusted technical interface to senior leadership and expert teams across Security, Network, Data Centre, HR, Identity and User Management.
  • Provide consultancy and architectural guidance to internal and external stakeholders, balancing quality, efficiency, cost, and risk.
  • Take end‑to‑end accountability for the lifecycle of selected products, adapting architecture to new business needs and optimisation requirements while ensuring consistent global service delivery.

Who you are

  • An experienced architect with strong knowledge of infrastructure services, including networks, server platforms, Microsoft Active Directory, and cloud services.
  • A confident communicator, able to present complex technical topics clearly across functional, cultural, and geographical boundaries.
  • Skilled at engaging, influencing, and negotiating with stakeholders to align solutions with Vodafone’s business priorities and risk appetite.
  • Comfortable operating in a global, matrixed environment with accountability but no direct budget or people management responsibility.
  • Professionally certified, such as Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate and/or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
