Senior UX Researcher

Your role in a nutshell:

You will be embedded in the workflows of Vodafone’s Group Design Studio - a global Centre of Excellence providing Vodafone Group and its local markets with strategic design for Vodafone’s digital channels portfolio.

As part of the Experience Research Team the member will join a team of 2, responsible for all research and UX testing across our global digital touchpoints and our flagship consumer products and services, such as the strategically highlighted OneApp (previously My Vodafone Application). The successful candidate will work closely with UX and UI designers, product owners and managers, and leaders in digital, customer operations, and consumer services globally. The candidate will need to be able to plan, execute, and deliver a wide range of experience research across all phases of the product design lifecycle and across multiple channels (with a focus on digital) from ideation through to launch.

The overall aim being to provide the customer perceptions, needs and current reality to teams who are creating experiences ensuring we’re truly meeting our customers’ needs and therefore have long term profitability.

What you’ll do:

  • You’ll get to lead and contribute to both formative and summative user research activities, including primary research, lab testing, remote unmoderated testing, benchmarking, surveys, concept testing, design sprints, field research, etc
  • You’ll get to collaborate with other researchers, service designers, commercial owners, and senior managers to identify and answer experience research questions on our most strategic products and services.
  • You’ll get to make recommendations to tangibly improve our customer and user experience across different Vodafone markets
  • You will act a subject matter expert for user research by upskilling colleagues, promoting the application of user research internally, and ensuring we apply cutting-edge research methods. You will be scanning the macro and micro environments for research innovations, case studies and learnings.

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • Fluent English (this is crucial as your direct team members are going to be from the UK)
  • Significant (4-5 years) experience in a User Researcher role, ideally with both industry and agency experience
  • Practical experience running and moderating user research as well as managing others (suppliers or internal staff) to run/moderate research
  • Experience with different types of research methodologies and the ability to independently determine the best research approach for a given business challenge
  • Ability to analyse and understand data, pulling out key insights
  • Strong presentation skills - ability to present results in both written and spoken format
  • Strong project and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • User-centered attitude - you are able to put our customers in the focus of everything you do
