About this Role
We are seeking an AML Analyst to support M-Pesa operations by identifying and monitoring suspicious activities and transactions. The role involves timely reporting of suspicious transactions to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and ensuring compliance with AML standards. This position is based in Ahmedabad and requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
What you will do
Assess AML alerts daily and escalate positive hits to the AML Supervisor and MLRO.Conduct sanction and Politically Exposed Person (PEP) screening and customer profile reviews.Prepare monthly reports on AML alert verification and assist in management information reporting.Review transaction monitoring alerts following prescribed procedures and standard investigation steps.Analyse transaction geographies and escalate suspicious cases as per market procedures.Maintain accurate records of investigations and decisions made.Ensure compliance with personal data protection rules.
Who you are
- Minimum 2–2.5 years’ experience in financial services (AML experience preferred).
- Knowledge of AML best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in MS Office.
- Ability to work independently with a quality-focused approach.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (fluency in English preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Law, Finance, Management, or a related field.
