What you’ll do

We are seeking a highly skilled individual to lead large-scale agile Platform and Cloud engineering teams supporting key Vodafone markets such as the UK, Germany, Spain and Italy. This role involves setting the technical direction, managing complex engineering delivery, and guiding a sizeable team while driving excellence in infrastructure automation, cloud solutions and engineering standards.Lead technical delivery across a large agile engineering organisation, ensuring high-quality standards, guidelines and tools are defined and adopted.Act as the primary technical lead supporting multiple delivery squads and digital application teams.Support, coach and empower 30+ Platform/Cloud engineers through continuous feedback, talent development and structured performance reviews.Own the engineering development roadmap, driving growth, capability uplift and career progression for team members.Oversee hiring, onboarding and retention of diverse engineering talent in collaboration with the recruitment team.Ensure visibility, coordination and alignment across all engineering initiatives, roadmaps and deliveries.Champion CI/CD implementation and automated infrastructure provisioning to enable fast, secure and scalable deployments.

Who you are

You bring 10+ years of hands-on experience in Platform and Cloud engineering, including leadership of technical squads.You have deep expertise in automated infrastructure, cloud platform design and Infrastructure as Code.You demonstrate strong people leadership skills, including mentorship, coaching and performance development.You are innovative, adaptable and comfortable driving engineering excellence in a dynamic environment.You have strong knowledge of Terraform, Terragrunt, Zero Trust security, observability tooling, GIT and static code analysis.You are capable of leading post-incident reviews and long-term remediation actions with a solution-focused approach.
