About this Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior AWS Cloud & Kubernetes DevOps Engineer to design, deploy, maintain and continuously improve end-to-end AWS cloud and on-premises infrastructure. This role is ideal for an individual with strong expertise in cloud operations, Kubernetes, infrastructure automation and DevOps practices who can support business-critical platforms, collaborate closely with development teams, and drive operational excellence, security, scalability and reliability across Vodafone's technology landscape.

What you’ll do

• Design, deploy, maintain and optimise end-to-end AWS cloud and on-premises infrastructure, including networking, DNS and security services.
• Maintain AWS Kubernetes environments and associated microservice resources to ensure stability, scalability and performance.
• Manage and support microservice deployments across cloud platforms.
• Provide Kubernetes and infrastructure support for application troubleshooting and incident resolution.
• Support the setup and maintenance of VoIP and telephony-related services.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to resolve incidents and maintain application integrity and service availability.
• Evaluate existing infrastructure and recommend performance, resilience and cost-optimisation improvements.
• Implement cloud infrastructure and microservice configuration changes to enable new business capabilities and application features.
• Promote infrastructure automation best practices and provide mentoring to engineering teams.
• Ensure compliance with security, risk and operational governance standards.
• Deliver agreed activities within customer-defined timelines and service expectations.

Who you are

• Extensive experience in AWS cloud services and infrastructure automation technologies, including Terraform, API Gateway, AWS Lambda and AWS CodePipeline.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes administration, containerised applications and microservices architectures.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
• Experience with CI/CD processes and tools including Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Maven and Gradle.Understanding of NoSQL database technologies such as MongoDB and Redis.
• Knowledge of monitoring, observability and log management tools including Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, Datadog, Instana and Fluentd.Experience working with Jira and Confluence.
• Hands-on experience operating applications within AWS, Azure and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure environments.
• Strong background in on-premises infrastructure, Linux administration, SSH access management and patching activities.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
• Excellent documentation, stakeholder management and communication skills in English.
• Degree in Information Technology or equivalent practical experience.8 to 10 years of experience within DevOps, cloud engineering or enterprise IT environments.Knowledge of ITIL frameworks, SOX requirements and security regulations.
• At least 5 years of experience working with public cloud infrastructure.
• Experience supporting highly business-critical production environments.Experience with DevOps practices in cloud-based environments.
• Experience supporting VoIP and telephony services.
