Role Purpose

Vodafone Egypt consumer marketing team seeks a Data Scientist to boost business`s decisions towards a data-driven decisions.

As part of our Data Science team, you will work alongside data scientists, big data engineers, and business stakeholders to define data science use cases, advise and solve complex problems and being positioned as the local technical expert.. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining use case pipelines, and communicating results to scientists, product managers, and customers.
Your work will directly impact millions of our customers in the form of products, services and offers. You will gain hands on experience with Vodafone’s huge volume of data and large-scale computing resources.

Key Accountabilites

  • Solve real-world problems by getting and analyzing large amounts of data, diving deep to identify business insights and opportunities, design simulations and experiments, developing statistical and ML models by tailoring to business needs, and collaborating with Scientists, Engineers, business partners, and Product Managers.
  • Conduct written and verbal presentations to share insights to technical or business audiences of varying levels.
  • Write code (Python, R, Scala, etc.) to analyze data and build statistical models to solve specific business problems.
  • Apply statistical and machine learning knowledge to specific business problems and data.
  • Build decision-making models and propose solution for the business problem you define.
  • Supports the prioritisation of both internal and external data assets and works with technology in setting key requirements for data sourcing

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s (or equivalent) in quantitative fields like Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science or Engineering
  • Proficient in statistical packages and ML libraries (e.g. R, Python SciPy and NLTK, Spark MLlib, etc)
  • Familiar with leading visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, Qlikview)
  • Familiar with implementing data transformations and algorithms in common programming languages
  • Strong communication skills with prior experience communicating analytics results to senior management
