About this Role

We are seeking a Data & Analytics Engineer to design, build and maintain scalable data engineering and analytics solutions for Vodafone’s Home Technology and Products portfolio, which serves millions of homes across Europe. You will develop cloud-based data pipelines, integrate cross-product analytics and create actionable insights that support strategic decision-making and continuous product improvement. As your knowledge and experience develop, the role offers the opportunity to progress towards end-to-end analytics architecture responsibilities.

What you’ll do

  • Develop, deploy and maintain scalable cloud-based ETL and ELT pipelines using Google Cloud Platform BigQuery and Amazon Web Services to ingest, transform and optimise large datasets.
  • Work collaboratively with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into clear, high-quality dashboards and management reports using Tableau or Power BI.
  • Establish automated data validation, testing and monitoring frameworks that improve data integrity, accuracy and performance.
  • Investigate data-quality and process issues, conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions to minimise disruption.
  • Improve the data architecture continuously by recommending reusable patterns, effective practices and scalable solutions.
  • Support the design, development and verification of technology programmes while promoting alignment across product domains, operating companies and relevant industry partners.
  • Ensure technical solutions comply with applicable security, privacy and regulatory requirements, particularly when handling customer data.
  • Contribute technical insight and original ideas to solution discussions, supplier engagement and product improvement opportunities.

Who you are

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or another relevant quantitative discipline.
  • You have two to four years of experience in data analysis and data engineering.
  • You have advanced SQL capability and practical experience with Google Cloud Platform BigQuery and Amazon Web Services data tools.
  • You have experience designing and implementing modern ETL or ELT workflows.
  • You have hands-on experience with Tableau. Experience with Power BI is also relevant.
  • You understand the software-development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, analysis, solution design, dimensional modelling, data loading, optimisation and front-end development.
  • You can convert complex datasets into clear insights, dashboards and reports.
  • You understand management reporting needs, cross-functional key performance indicators and regulatory reporting.
  • You demonstrate analytical thinking, close attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.
  • You communicate clearly and work effectively within agile, cross-functional, multinational and multi-location teams.
  • You remain informed about cloud-computing standards and DevOps practices and can apply them to practical business challenges.
  • You are adaptable, curious and proactive when working with evolving technologies and complex technical requirements.

Not a perfect fit?

Concerned you may not meet every requirement? Vodafone is committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. If you are excited about this role but your experience does not align exactly with every aspect of the job description, you are encouraged to apply. You may be the right candidate for this or another opportunity, and the recruitment team will support you in exploring where your skills fit best.

What's in it for you

  • The opportunity to work with large, complex datasets supporting products used by millions of homes across Europe.
  • Practical exposure to cloud data platforms, including Google Cloud Platform BigQuery and Amazon Web Services.
  • Experience developing analytics and reporting solutions that influence strategic decisions and product improvements.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional, multinational and multi-location teams.
  • Opportunities to contribute to scalable data architecture, analytics innovation and emerging technology solutions.
  • A development path towards broader end-to-end analytics architecture responsibilities.

What skills you will learn

  • Advanced cloud-based data engineering across Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services.
  • Scalable ETL and ELT pipeline design, deployment, monitoring and optimisation.
  • Automated data-quality validation, testing and performance monitoring.
  • Advanced analytics and data visualisation using Tableau and Power BI.
  • Dimensional modelling and the delivery of end-to-end data solutions.
  • Translation of business requirements into actionable dashboards, reports and cross-functional performance indicators.
  • Root-cause analysis and structured resolution of data and process issues.
  • Data architecture design using reusable patterns and scalable practices.
  • Application of security, privacy, regulatory and DevOps principles within analytics solutions.
  • Stakeholder collaboration and technical decision-making across international teams.
