Role Purpose

  • Ensuring that AI systems are developed and deployed responsibly, ethically, and in compliance with regulations
  • Creating and implementing comprehensive frameworks, policies, standards, and best practices for AI governance
  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential ethical, legal, and reputational risks associated with AI use.
  • Establish model monitoring, documentation, and audit processes.
  • Working with various teams, including data scientists, engineers, legal, compliance, Privacy and business units, to integrate AI governance into the development lifecycle.

Role Profile

  1. Policy and Framework Development
  • Design and implement AI governance frameworks.
  • Establish AI ethics guidelines and principles (e.g., fairness, transparency, accountability).
  • Ensure alignment with corporate values and legal requirements.
  1. Audit and Monitoring
  • Implement auditing systems for AI models (e.g., model performance, fairness metrics).
  • Monitor AI systems for drift, unintended consequences, and compliance over time.
  1. Model Lifecycle Oversight

Implement model governance from development to deployment starting from Approvals and validation before production and Monitoring and re-evaluation in production.

  1. MLOPS Governance

introduces automated processes for tracking, monitoring, validation, documentation, and for versioning all ML artifacts, including complete data, models, code, and pipelines.

  1. Risk Management
  • Collaborating with the AI risk management team to identify, assess, and mitigate potential AI risks
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to bias, privacy, security, and explainability in AI systems.
  1. Training and Awareness
  • Educate teams on ethical AI practices.
  • Create training materials and conduct workshops.

Competencies and Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of AI/ML, GenAI algorithms, frameworks, and deployment strategies.
  • Knowledge of data privacy principles (like GDPR) and how they apply to AI systems.
  • Familiarity with common AI biases and methods for identifying and mitigating them
  • Knowledge of methodologies for auditing and evaluating AI systems
  • Must have technical/ professional qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in AI/ML or related domains
  • Strong understanding of AI technologies: Knowledge of machine learning, data science, and AI development processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to communicate complex AI governance issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Solid understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks: Familiarity with data privacy regulations, AI-specific laws, and industry standards.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to evaluate technical systems within ethical, legal, and operational contexts.
