Job Description

We have an amazing new opportunity for a Technical Portfolio Manager to join the Operational & Business IT Enablement department within the Core IT directorate.

You will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of wholesale operations and leading a portfolio of projects aimed at enhancing efficiency, scalability, and innovation within the wholesale business. This role requires a combination of technical proficiency, project management expertise, and strategic thinking to drive successful outcomes and support the overall business objectives.

You'll work with various departments and Suppliers to evaluate and prioritise project deliverables. You are accountable for driving continuous improvement, taking full responsibility for activities across the domain and ensuring managed services, SOW’s and other supplier deliverables are to a quality required by Virgin Media O2.

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

  • Previous demonstrable experience in a similar Technical Portfolio Management role within a sophisticated technical and stakeholder environment ideally using multiple methodologies i.e. Waterfall / Agile
  • In-depth understanding of wholesale business processes and operations
  • Experience in a service delivery environment where the product and service are heavily dependent on IT platforms and constantly evolving technology
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies relevant to wholesale operations, such as cloud computing, data analytics, and automation tools
  • Technically highly capable with a background in software engineering/systems development

  • A track record of delivering technologies at scale in a complex business
