Job Description

Virgin Media O2 is expanding its Credit Risk team, and an exciting opportunity is here for a Manager - Credit Risk Insight to join the team.

The role involves managing and leading credit risk insight across our new and existing consumer base. You’ll be supporting the team in diving into credit risk data and creating easy to understand, value-adding insight that will be at the heart of how we enhance our credit risk strategies. This will entail the identification of emerging trends, investigating the reasons behind those trends and revealing potential areas for improvement that will keep us steps ahead of the game.

The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills and be comfortable leading a team of analysts. You’ll need to be highly analytical, have a passion for problem-solving and be able to fit into a fast-moving, innovative, and high-profile environment. Prior consumer lending experience in a credit risk function is a must, alongside previous management experience. You’ll be comfortable with leading projects and presenting your findings to senior management. You’ll need strong experience utilising credit risk scorecards and strategies, and have a real desire to shape and drive forwards our team’s agenda.

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

  • Experience in consumer credit risk (Telecoms experience would be particularly helpful).
  • Previous management experience in a credit risk setting.
  • Ability to lead a pool of analysts to ensure the goals of the team and wider business are met.
  • Advanced analytical skills with experience leading projects in evaluating strategies and scorecards.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct the build of MI to segment and analyse portfolio performance.
  • Experience of extracting, manipulating, and reviewing large amounts of data using SQL.
  • Ability to understand and formulate strategies to achieve wider business goals.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Innovation to continually improve business processes & customer experience.

The other stuff we are looking for

We'd also love you to bring;

  • Understanding of Credit Risk Decisioning outputs and credit decision tree software
  • FCA Consumer Credit Regulation across the full Credit Lifecycle including Collections
  • Experience of working agile/exposure to methodology
  • BI Tools such as Tableau for building meaningful insight
  • Project/Delivery Risk management
